The German Armed Forces have successfully deployed ARX Robotics' advanced Gereon RCS systems in Slovakia, enhancing NATO’s operational capabilities along the Eastern Flank. This deployment, part of NATO’s Enhanced Forward Presence, integrates the GEREON systems into training exercises and ongoing operations.

The Gereon RCS systems are designed for robustness in active battlefields, capable of reaching speeds up to 30 km/h and operating within a 40 km range before requiring a battery swap or recharge. Their compact design and advanced control capabilities allow for rapid deployment across challenging terrains, keeping pace with the troops.

These systems are now integrated with both mounted and dismounted mechanized infantry of the Bundeswehr, supporting tasks such as reconnaissance, logistical support, casualty evacuation (CASEVAC), and signal corps operations. The Gereon RCS units enhance situational awareness, perform sophisticated surveillance, and assist in reconnaissance, detecting obstacles and enemy positions.

Equipped with the ARX Autonomy Kit, the Gereon RCS can execute autonomous missions guided by advanced sensor technology and artificial intelligence. Marc Wietfeld, CEO of ARX Robotics, stated, “Our unmanned ground systems provide the adaptability and modularity needed for operations by the German Armed Forces, enhancing the operational spectrum of our NATO forces on the eastern flank.”

ARX Robotics, a leading German defence tech start-up, develops autonomous unmanned ground systems with scalable hardware and software architectures. Their systems are currently deployed, procured, or tested by six European armed forces, supporting a variety of military applications.
