ARX Robotics (formerly ARX Landsysteme GmbH) and Quantum Systems convened in Gilching, near Munich, to formalize a landmark agreement for future collaboration. This strategic partnership brings together Germany’s two leading enterprises dedicated to supporting Ukraine and driving technological advancements.

Joint expertise in unmanned systems

Quantum Systems, renowned for its expertise in producing autonomous reconnaissance drones, joins forces with ARX Robotics, a pioneer in unmanned ground vehicles. By combining their capabilities, both companies aim to capitalize on synergies and deliver enhanced unmanned solutions to the German Bundeswehr and to other allied armed forces that see the demand to adapt to changes on the modern battlefields.

“We are partners who complement each other. One with its experience in the air and ARX with our modular systems on the ground. We are united by our belief in the need for unmanned systems in the armed forces, also as a sign of a real turning point,” said Marc Wietfeld, CEO, ARX Robotics.

Addressing critical gaps

The Quantum Systems Vector drone, a battle-proven reconnaissance system, has been actively supporting Ukrainian forces since the beginning of 2022. Over 200 Vector systems are currently in operation in Ukraine, with overall around 500 systems sheduled for delivery this year. Notably, the Ukrainian General Staff has submitted a request for an additional 800 individual Vector systems. Similarly, ARX Robotics is contributing to Ukrainian defence efforts by supplying initial systems for rigorous testing and deployment across specialized units of the Ukrainian Army.

“The fact that two young dual-use companies with state-of-the-art technology are in the process of repositioning the European defense market and bringing a new era to life makes us proud, as well as humbled by the task ahead of us. But we are certain that the future is unmanned, and we want to write it together,” said Florian Seibel, CEO, Quantum Systems.

Both companies acknowledge the crucial need to actively drive and support the German Federal Armed Forces in reassessing the imperative for technological advancements—a mission they are dedicated to undertake together. This initiative includes collaborative public relations campaigns aimed at facilitating the transfer of knowledge gathered from their experiences in Ukraine to the German Federal Armed Forces. Additionally, the partnership seeks to showcase the benefits of unmanned systems through joint demonstrations.
