South Korean defence company Hanwha Aerospace has delivered a new batch of K9A1 self-propelled howitzers to Poland.

On 25 August, the Polish Defence Procurement Agency announced the arrival of a new batch of 12 K9A1 self-propelled howitzers in Poland. These new guns are set to enter regular service with the Polish Land Forces in the coming weeks.

This timely delivery indicates that Hanwha Aerospace is fulfilling the contract signed with the Polish Ministry of Defence in accordance with the schedule outlined in the agreement.

In July 2022, Poland signed the first executive contract with Hanwha Aerospace for the delivery of 212 K9A1 guns. The first batch of 24 artillery systems was handed over to Poland in December 2022. In 2023, Hanwha delivered a further 40 K9s to the country. According to the agreement, deliveries are set to be completed by 2026. This deal is valued at USD 2.4 billion.
