By Defence Industry Europe

Leonardo DRS, Inc. has been awarded a contract valued at over USD 49 million to produce additional Joint Assault Bridge (JAB) systems for the U.S. Army and the Romanian military. The contract, which includes a Foreign Military Sales agreement, will see the continued delivery of these advanced assault-bridging systems to support both nations' armoured forces.

The Joint Assault Bridge is a next-generation tracked and armoured engineer vehicle built on a modified M1A1 Abrams Main Battle Tank chassis. Designed to enhance mobility on the battlefield, the JAB system enables armoured units to overcome obstacles quickly and efficiently, providing a crucial capability for manoeuvre operations.
