Marshall Aerospace extends support contracts for Danish and Norwegian C-130J fleets

By Defence Industry Europe

Marshall Aerospace has announced the extension of its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) contracts for the Lockheed Martin C-130J aircraft fleets operated by the Royal Danish Air Force (RDAF) and the Royal Norwegian Air Force (RNoAF). The agreements will cover a total of eight aircraft, extending Marshall’s long-standing partnership with both nations.

The latest contract renewals build upon a collaborative procurement agreement established in 2012 between Denmark and Norway. Both air forces operate four C-130J aircraft each, and the new arrangement will add two years to the existing support period, with potential options for further extensions.

Chris Dare, Director of MRO Services and Solutions at Marshall, expressed enthusiasm for the extended partnership. “We will continue to cultivate these long-standing relationships, working with the evolving needs of both customers as we provide high-quality, low-risk depth maintenance with industry-leading turnaround times,” he said.

Marshall’s MRO services will be delivered from its facility in Cambridge, UK, where depth maintenance activities such as C, C2, and D checks will ensure the operational readiness of the aircraft. The agreement aims to maintain peak performance for the RDAF and RNoAF fleets, which play vital roles in national and international operations.

The RDAF fleet supports Danish troops globally and carries out missions in the Arctic region, including operations at Greenland’s Station Nord, located 600 miles from the North Pole. Meanwhile, the RNoAF aircraft perform diverse tactical missions, including humanitarian relief, medical airlift, cold weather operations, and natural disaster response.

Marshall Aerospace has been a trusted partner for the C-130 platform since 1966, establishing a global reputation for delivering high-quality MRO solutions. The company’s extensive experience and commitment to excellence continue to support critical air operations for military customers worldwide.
