MilDef to deliver BMS infrastructure for Swedish amphibious support vessels

“With previous experience of designing, configuring and installing world-leading IT solution for the Swedish Navy, we are proud to play an important role in the development of Naval capabilities. This contract is further proof of MilDef’s contribution to the growth of the Swedish Armed Forces,” says Daniel Ljunggren, CEO of MilDef Group.

The project is part of the larger framework agreement that MilDef signed with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration in 2022. In total, the infrastructure for battle management systems will be upgraded and installed in sixteen vessels to a value of SEK 37 million.

 

MilDef has previously designed, configured and installed both its own hardware and other support systems as part of the modernization of Swedish ships and combat boats.

Now FMV has once again entrusted MilDef with designing and installing the hardware required by modern battle management systems. Lätt Trossbåt is one of the amphibious corps’ support vessels and over a three-year period, MilDef will manage the modernization of a total of sixteen units.

The design is based on a prototype system recently tested during the major Swedish military exercise Aurora 2023 and will start immediately.
