On 7 and 8 June 2023, the NATO Support and Procurement Agency (NSPA) hosted the Clean Energy Industry Event in hybrid format. The event brought together high-level representatives from NATO, Luxembourg's government and institutions (Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs, Luxinnovation, Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology), and Industry.

This was the Agency’s first event dedicated to Clean Energy, gathering more than 200 participants, 50 Industry and National representatives from NATO and Partner Nations, out of which 25 demonstrating companies. On this occasion, experts, the civil society and the private sector (Airbus, Rolls-Royce, ARPA amongst others) shared knowledge and expertise on their respective Clean Energy technologies and how these benefit NSPA’s customers, taking into account the NATO “Climate Change and Security Action Plan”, within the NATO 2030 initiative.

“NSPA plays an instrumental role in the implementation of the NATO Climate Change & Security Agenda and Action Plan. NSPA’s vision is to be an environmentally responsible Agency that customers choose in order to acquire sustainable, cutting-edge capabilities that feature, among others, clean energy solutions. As a key solution provider for operational requirements as well as capabilities, we aim to assist NATO, Nations and partners on their journey to meet their national, EU and NATO targets on Climate Change, while enhancing their operational capabilities,” Stacy Cummings, NSPA General Manager.

NSPA programme representatives presented the Agency’s capabilities related to Clean Energy and explained how the Agency has been successfully delivering solutions that support NATO and Nations in this domain.

The event was an opportunity for a dynamic exchange on the evolution of sustainable energy solutions between military, national and NATO specialists and renowned industry players, having the ultimate goal of enabling NSPA customers to focus on their core mission, and to ease their operational effort by providing scaled capabilities through consolidation, centralisation and competition.
