OCCAR: HYDIS programme advances with key workshop on interceptor development

By Defence Industry Europe

The OCCAR HYDIS programme has reached a significant milestone with the successful completion of its first Solution Space Review (SSR). Following this achievement, representatives from participating states—Germany, France, Italy, and the Netherlands—gathered for the 5th Workshop, hosted by MBDA France.

The workshop brought together national and industry experts to discuss critical aspects of the interceptor’s development. Key topics included the system’s resilience to environmental challenges, safety tolerances, launch platform integration, and long-term sustainability in demanding operational conditions.

Facilitated by MBDA’s integrated team, the discussions also incorporated valuable insights from national representatives on future developments in radar sensors, surface launching platforms, and tactical datalinks. These contributions will support the ongoing assessment of concept maturity and the feasibility of proposed solutions.

Looking ahead, a 6th User Workshop is scheduled for April 2025 in Paris. This meeting will focus on refining integration solutions to ensure compatibility with national ground and naval platforms, further advancing the programme’s objectives.
