Ovzon expands contract with Swedish Space Corporation, total order reaches SEK 132 million

By Defence Industry Europe

Swedish satellite communications company Ovzon has secured an expanded contract with its long-term partner, the Swedish Space Corporation (SSC). Initially valued at SEK 115 million for a 12-month period, the contract now includes additional mobile satellite terminals, bringing the total order value to 132 MSEK.

The expanded contract, signed in September 2024, follows a previous agreement from December 2023, which included Ovzon’s SATCOM-as-a-Service and mobile satellite terminals. The added On-The-Move mobile satellite terminals are engineered to perform in extreme conditions, enabling reliable connectivity for mobile applications in demanding environments.

Ovzon has committed to delivering the terminals by late 2024 and early 2025. The full payment of SEK 132 million is expected before the end of 2024, supporting Ovzon’s financial stability and growth initiatives as it seeks to leverage its recently launched satellite, Ovzon 3.

“We are pleased with our continued close cooperation with SSC,” commented Ovzon CEO Per Norén. “This expansion reflects the strong ongoing demand for Ovzon’s unique capabilities. The fact that the total order value of 132 MSEK will be paid in full before the end of 2024 enables us to focus on growth and expansion by capturing new business opportunities on our recently operationalized satellite Ovzon 3.”
