Ovzon to demonstrate resilient SATCOM technology for the Swedish Armed Forces

By Defence Industry Europe

Swedish space company Ovzon has partnered with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) to showcase advanced satellite communication (SATCOM) technology. This collaboration includes an order for Ovzon’s integrated solution, which features mobile satellite terminals and the new Ovzon 3 SATCOM service, designed for an innovative implementation with unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs).

The demonstration, set to take place in Sweden during the second half of November, aims to highlight Ovzon’s industry-leading SATCOM capabilities in supporting sovereign applications. Ovzon’s technology is engineered to offer high levels of control, allowing services to operate securely within a country’s borders, regardless of global deployment.

Ovzon’s unique resilience features are powered by its Ovzon 3 satellite and an advanced On-Board Processor, which are critical for remote operations over significant distances. This demonstration will underscore the system’s potential by enabling real-time, long-distance control of an unmanned vehicle, showcasing the robustness and security of Ovzon’s SATCOM solution.

“Within a short period of time, we have created a significant interest in Ovzon 3’s unique capabilities and initiated implementation with several governmental organizations in the USA and Europe,” said Ovzon’s CEO, Per Norén. “Our solutions, which combine high performance, mobility and resiliency, make Ovzon ideal in supporting critical missions within defense, national security, and public safety. We see this demonstration as an important step to further deepen our relationship with Swedish defense organizations.”
