Nexter delivers two CAESAR Mk1 self-propelled howitzers to DGA

Defence company Nexter, a company of KNDS, has delivered two CAESAR Mk1 self-propelled howitzers to the French defence procurement agency DGA.

On October 3-5 the 10th edition of the IDEB Defence & Security exhibition was held in the capital of Slovakia, attended by several dozen international defence companies participating. During the event, Slovak artillery specialist Konstrukta Defence showcased its top self-propelled howitzers and other solutions. Among them, the newly developed BIA 6x6 155mm artillery system caught the eye of both visitors and the exhibition organizers.

The BIA self-propelled howitzer was first unveiled at DSEI in London earlier this year, and the latest edition of IDEB marked the second time this artillery system played a main role at Konstrukta Defence’s display.

During the 11th International Defense Exhibition Partner 2023, Serbian defence company Yugoimport has unveiled its new 155mm self-propelled artillery howtizer Nora B-52 NG Perun.

Developed and manufactured by the Slovak defence industry, Zuzana 2, the 155mm self-propelled howitzer, has demonstrated high effectiveness, accuracy, and mobility during the international military training conducted in Lithuania, one of NATO's eastern flank countries.

Zuzana 2 155mm self-propelled howitzer has demonstrated high effectiveness, accuracy, and mobility during the international military training conducted in Lithuania.

Lithuania plans to equip the Brigadier General Motiejus Pečiulionis Artillery Battalion with the CAESAR Mark II self-propelled wheeled howitzers by 2027. The acquired CAESAR (6×6) artillery systems is the best match for Lithuanian Armed Forces requirements, it is also basically the only battle-tested self-propelled wheeled 155 mm artillery system manufactured in a NATO or EU member state. Another argument that factored in the choice of the French system is compatibility of ammunition used for CAESAR Mark II and the tracked 155 mm PzH2000 artillery system that the Lithuanian Armed Forces already have.
