The appointment of Dr. Thomas Kauffmann as Chairman of the Supervisory Board was made earlier in May 2023 based on a unanimous agreement between Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW), General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS) and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems (Rafael), as EuroTrophy’s three founding companies.
Dr. Thomas Kauffmann, Vice President International Business & Services of General Dynamics European Land Systems (GDELS), and Managing Director of GDELS – Deutschland, had taken a lead role in the establishment of the EuroTrophy Joint Venture and acts as Supervisory Board Member since the company’s establishment in March 2022.
Upon his appointment, Dr. Thomas Kauffmann said: “I am looking forward to contributing to the leadership of EuroTrophy. As the German system house for Active Protection Systems we understand the evolving operational needs of our European customers, resulting from challenging requirements at NATO’s Eastern flank. EuroTrophy was created to support their efforts in protecting wheeled and tracked armored vehicles from advanced anti-tank attacks.”
EuroTrophy GmbH is the European hub of the Trophy APS; Based in Germany, the company is the only provider of a European made, combat proven, NATO fielded Active Protection System.
