Ukrainian Defense Industry (UDI) and Poland’s Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen defence cooperation. The agreement covers key areas such as ammunition, armoured vehicles, artillery, and air defence.

In addition to technical collaboration, both parties will explore financial mechanisms to secure funding under the European Defence Strategy and the European Defence Industrial Programme. This initiative aims to enhance the defence capabilities of both Ukraine and Poland through joint projects and resource sharing.

The memorandum was signed in the presence of Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries, Herman Smetanin, and Poland’s Secretary of State for Defence, Cezary Tomczyk. Their participation highlights the high-level support for closer ties between the defence sectors of both nations.

Minister Smetanin expressed gratitude to the Polish government for its assistance in advancing defence industry collaboration. He emphasised Ukraine’s urgent need for explosives and deeper cooperation not only between companies but also at an industry-wide level.

UDI’s Director General, Oleh Hulyak, reaffirmed the importance of Poland as a strategic partner for Ukraine. He expressed confidence in the long-term prospects of joint defence initiatives that will contribute to the security and resilience of both countries.
