Ukrainian defence firm Skiftech secures U.S. Army contract for tactical training simulators

By Defence Industry Europe

Ukrainian defence technology company Skiftech has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Army to develop laser-based tactical engagement simulation equipment. The contract is part of a broader initiative to modernise military training technologies, placing Skiftech alongside leading global defence contractors.

The company was selected alongside major industry players, including Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics Mission Systems, Cubic Defense, and Saab. Skiftech described the contract as a significant milestone, reinforcing its role in advancing military training solutions and supporting modern defence strategies.

According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the agreement falls under the Army Contracting Command in Orlando, Florida, and has a total value of up to USD 921 million. The awarded companies will compete for individual task orders over the contract’s duration, which extends through March 2035.

The Tactical Engagement Simulation Systems (TESS) covered by this agreement are essential tools for realistic battlefield training. These laser-based simulators allow troops to conduct force-on-force exercises, improving combat readiness without using live ammunition.
