The Presidency of Defence Industries said the agreements cover a broad set of projects under the Steel Dome framework and amount to an economic value of about 6.5 billion dollars. Haluk Gorgun noted that decisions adopted during the Defence Industry Executive Committee meeting were now being converted into contracts.
Gorgun said Türkiye meets its own air defence needs while exporting systems across several tiers. He also stressed the value of the indigenous, layered air defence doctrine and said the country now produces software and hardware for integrated systems that operate on a unified network.
He added that Türkiye continues serial production of long range offensive capabilities that support deterrence. Gorgun attributed the progress of the last 23 years to support from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying it helped establish a self sufficient and sustainable ecosystem.
Aselsan General Manager Ahmet Akyol said the new contracts are “strategically important” for Türkiye and will bring significant quantities of air defence systems into mass production. Roketsan General Manager Murat Ikinci said many new projects, from space systems to air defence, anti tank and strategic platforms, will now move into serial production.
“With today’s signatures, we have taken steps that will significantly strengthen the strategic power of our Armed Forces,” Ikinci said. SSB Vice President Huseyin Avsar added that the projects will make a “serious contribution” to Türkiye’s national security, deterrence and striking power.
