Saab UK has opened a new site in South West England dedicated to its Training and Simulation business unit to support British Army training. The expansion is intended to strengthen Saab’s ability to deliver advanced training solutions to the British Army.

The facility will act as a hub for advanced training technologies and services, supporting operational readiness through realistic and immersive environments. With the new site, Saab UK now operates five Training and Simulation locations across the UK and one in Germany.

For 30 years, Saab has worked with the UK Ministry of Defence and the British Army to deliver training systems ranging from soldier-level solutions to multi-domain exercises. Andy Fraser, Group Managing Director at Saab UK, said: “This new site demonstrates our commitment to supporting the British Army with innovative training capabilities and investing in the UK.”

He added: “For over three decades, we have worked together to ensure soldiers are prepared for the demands of modern operations, and this expansion also brings new opportunities for local employment and economic growth.” Saab noted that recent developments include a £20 million contract amendment announced in 2024 to support British Army live training using high-fidelity simulation technology and interoperability standards.

The company said the investment reflects Saab’s continued growth in the UK and its role in strengthening national defence capabilities. It also underlines Saab’s long-term commitment to supporting British military training requirements.
