The video, distributed through official military channels, shows precision strikes against underground facilities and ballistic missile launchers. According to the IDF, these sites were selected due to their role in Iran’s long-range strike capabilities.
In a statement, the IDF said, “As part of Operation Roaring Lion, the Air Force struck hundreds of military targets, including launch systems of the Iranian terrorist regime in western Iran.” The military added that the released footage documents strikes on underground missile bases and ballistic launch platforms considered central to Iran’s missile network.
Israeli authorities said the operation is being conducted alongside active defensive measures within Israel. The IDF stated that while airstrikes were taking place in Iran, Israel’s air defense systems were simultaneously intercepting incoming threats aimed at Israeli territory.
The military reported that missile launch infrastructure and facilities connected to Iran’s military network were among the selected targets. Footage shows guided munitions striking fortified sites, followed by secondary explosions that Israeli officials said were consistent with stored military equipment or fuel sources.
Israeli officials did not provide details about the number of aircraft involved or the specific weapons used in the operation. Operation Roaring Lion was previously announced as a coordinated campaign directed at what Israel describes as existential threats posed by Iran’s missile and proxy networks.
