AERALIS establishes French subsidiary to strengthen Anglo-French aerospace collaboration

By Defence Industry Europe

British aerospace company AERALIS has announced the launch of its European subsidiary, AERALIS France. This move reinforces the long-standing defence and aerospace collaboration between the United Kingdom and France, which has previously been demonstrated through projects such as Concorde, Jaguar, and MBDA.

The establishment of AERALIS France comes in anticipation of new Anglo-French cooperation opportunities under the Lancaster House Treaty. The company aims to introduce a flexible light jet system across Europe through an innovative development programme.

Tristan Crawford, AERALIS founder and CEO, highlighted the significance of the expansion in the current economic climate. He emphasised that AERALIS France will enable aircraft service providers to operate its ‘Aircraft-As-A-Service’ model more efficiently, reducing reliance on fixed-design, military-certified jets.

By operating within France, AERALIS will work directly with the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This will allow the company to secure a European civil airworthiness certificate and enhance its access to European export markets.

The expansion supports the wider European objective of increasing affordable light jet fleet capacity. As existing fleets continue to age, AERALIS aims to provide cost-effective replacements to meet operational demands from 2030 onwards.
