This testing phase, led by NHIndustries, lasted eleven months and included over 140 flight hours.
The Sea Tiger helicopter, configured in its final production form, underwent a series of operational scenarios as expected by its future users.

With the testing and certification phase complete, Airbus is now prepared to begin deliveries, which are expected to start by the end of 2025.
The contract between NHIndustries and the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment (BAAINBw) was signed in November 2020 and includes the purchase of 31 NH90NFH Sea Tiger helicopters.
These new helicopters are intended to operate primarily from the decks of the German Navy’s growing fleet of missile frigates, replacing the ageing Westland Sea Lynx Mk 88A.
During the selection process, Germany evaluated various helicopter models from both European and American manufacturers, ultimately opting for the Sea Tiger in a €2.7 billion project.
The testing phase included rigorous checks of the Thales FLASH sonar system, electro-optical observation and targeting systems, under-slung weaponry, and data transmission systems.
