This agreement builds on the success of the first phase, which saw the successful delivery of 10 transmissions in 2024. The new contract includes an additional 32 units, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2026.
Allison’s Vice President of Defense Programs, Dana Pittard, highlighted the importance of the collaboration. He emphasised that the company’s cross-drive transmissions improve vehicle mobility in challenging conditions while enhancing soldier safety.
The Allison X1100 transmission is specifically designed for heavy tracked combat vehicles weighing between 45 and 63 tonnes. It integrates steering and braking into a compact unit, offering enhanced durability and efficiency in demanding operational environments.
Turkey is expected to develop between 140 and 160 next-generation Firtina howitzers for its armed forces. The agreement with HST Otomotiv is part of a broader strategy that is projected to generate an additional $100 million in annual revenue for Allison’s defence sector.
With this contract, Allison Transmission strengthens its presence in the global defence market. The partnership with HST Otomotiv underscores the company’s commitment to providing high-performance propulsion solutions for military applications.
