Aselsan has unveiled a containerised version of its GÖKDENİZ close-in weapon system that can be fitted to commercial ships and oil tankers without a permanent installation. The Turkish defence company also presented a deployable version of its GÖKSUR VLS point-defence missile system for use on land or at sea at Euronaval 2026 in Paris.

GÖKDENİZ is the naval version of Aselsan’s KORKUT air defence system, and the new configuration houses its own power supply and operator station in a self-contained container. Aselsan says the unit can operate independently of the vessel and be removed for use elsewhere, making it an option for ships transiting strategically important waterways.

The containerised GÖKSUR VLS houses its fire control centre and missile launcher in separate units. It has its own sensors and built-in generators, so it can be deployed without relying on the host platform for power.

“Today’s maritime security environment calls for solutions that can respond to urgent operational needs and evolving threats,” said Ahmet Akyol, Aselsan’s president and chief executive. “With the deployable GÖKDENİZ and GÖKSUR configurations, we are extending an established air defense capability to platforms and environments where flexible, rapidly deployable protection is needed.”

Aselsan also showed its TUFAN uncrewed surface vessel and KILIÇ family of autonomous underwater vehicles, both designed for one-way attacks. Its new SMASH 30 remotely controlled naval gun uses electro-optical sensors, AI-assisted target detection, classification and tracking, and ATOM 30 programmable ammunition to counter surface and aerial threats.

The company’s surveillance exhibits included MERCAN 100, an electro-optical mast for submarine reconnaissance and surveillance. Aselsan also presented AINEO BOX, which adds real-time image processing and automated target detection, classification and tracking to electro-optical systems.
