GE Aerospace has received a three-year contract from Boeing Defence UK Ltd to continue supporting the T700-GE-T701D engines powering the British Army’s Apache AH-64E fleet. The agreement extends support for the engines used by the UK’s attack helicopters.

The contract is structured as a Performance Based Logistics agreement. Under the deal, GE Aerospace will provide an on-site Field Service Representative at Wattisham Flying Station in Suffolk.

GE Aerospace will also deliver logistics management, technical support and material support. Repair and maintenance of engines and line-replaceable units will be carried out through StandardAero in Gosport, UK.

“We are proud to continue our longstanding relationship with Boeing Defence and support the British Army,” said Paul Ferraro, vice president and general manager, Defense Engines & Services, GE Aerospace.

“This agreement strengthens regional support and services for the UK Apache fleet, helping ensure readiness and availability,” Ferraro said.

The T700 engine family has been in service for more than four decades. GE Aerospace said more than 25,000 engines have been produced and the family has accumulated more than 100 million flight hours.

The T700 powers platforms in 50 countries and serves more than 130 customers. Its missions include transport, medical evacuation, air rescue, special operations and maritime patrol.
