The trial assessed the missile alongside its dedicated naval launcher and command-and-control system. IAI said all elements met the test objectives, demonstrating the system’s ability to support long-range sea-to-shore and sea-to-sea engagements.
The firings formed part of the German Navy’s Operational Experimentation programme, known as OPEX, which supports its Marine 2035 and Beyond plan. The initiative provides a framework for testing technologies and operating concepts quickly and under conditions intended to reflect real missions.
IAI describes Naval LORA as a combat-proven ballistic weapon designed to provide warships with precision deep-strike capability in demanding operating environments. The company said the naval configuration was intended to combine range, accuracy and survivability in a single integrated system.

Boaz Levy, chairman of IAI, said: “The successful trial of the LORA missile, launched from a naval vessel and striking its target with exceptional precision, took place overnight in Germany – the country where the world’s first ballistic missile was developed. This trial demonstrates Israel’s technological strength and the unique cooperation between Israel and Germany.”
Levy linked the Naval LORA demonstration to Germany’s deployment of the Israeli Arrow 3 air-defence system. “It marks another significant achievement alongside the deployment of the Arrow 3 system on German soil, further strengthening Germany’s defense and deterrence capabilities and deepening the strategic partnership between our two countries.”

The trial gives the German Navy operational data on a ship-launched ballistic weapon as it evaluates future capabilities under the OPEX framework. IAI said Naval LORA was designed to deliver precision strikes across challenging operational environments while maintaining reliability and survivability.
