MilDef secures SEK 80 million contract for IT equipment in BvS10 tracked vehicles

Swedish technology company MilDef has secured a significant contract to supply rugged IT equipment for the new BvS10 tracked vehicles manufactured by BAE Systems Hägglunds. The contract is valued at SEK 80 million, with deliveries scheduled from 2025 to 2029 to an undisclosed European nation.

 

The BvS10 tracked vehicle, already in service with countries including Sweden, Austria, France, the Netherlands, the UK, and the USA, is renowned for its ability to traverse challenging terrain and conduct amphibious operations. BAE Systems Hägglunds has been entrusted to deliver these versatile vehicles, with MilDef providing customised switches tailored to the new vehicles’ requirements.

“The orders now won are a continuation of a long-standing collaboration with BAE Systems Hägglunds and an acceleration of joint efforts for strengthened defense systems in Sweden and Europe,” said Daniel Ljunggren, President and CEO of MilDef. He emphasised the importance of this partnership in showcasing Nordic technological expertise and supporting European security of supply.

BAE Systems Hägglunds’ BvS10 vehicles are designed for demanding environments, capable of rapid movement over terrain impassable to other vehicles. Their amphibious capabilities further enhance their operational versatility, making them a critical asset for modern defence strategies.
