Milrem Robotics integrates Saab’s Sirius Compact sensor with THeMIS UGV during Arctic Strike 2025

By Defence Industry Europe

Estonian defence technology company Milrem Robotics successfully demonstrated its THeMIS Unmanned Ground Vehicle (UGV) at the Arctic Strike 2025 (AS25) exercise. Conducted in collaboration with the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) and Saab AB, the exercise tested autonomous systems in extreme Arctic conditions.

The THeMIS Cargo variant was equipped with Saab’s Sirius Compact electronic warfare (EW) sensor and several AT4 anti-tank weapons. It played a key role in target acquisition by working in coordination with other Saab Sirius Compact sensors during the exercise.

Designed for versatility, the THeMIS platform is both scalable and modular, allowing it to support a wide range of active and passive sensor systems. Its ability to navigate challenging terrain makes it a valuable tool for extended deployments and stable sensor operations.

“Pushing the boundaries of autonomous intelligence,” Milrem Robotics stated on social media, highlighting the UGV’s resilience and adaptability in harsh environments. Exercises such as Arctic Strike are seen as critical for validating new defence technologies and integrating robotic systems into modern military operations.
