The testing supports the Army’s Lethal Unmanned System program. It is managed under the Precision Strike Reconnaissance System portfolio within Capability Portfolio Executive Mission Autonomy.
Mistral and Uvision jointly deliver HERO 120 systems to the Army. Uvision serves as design authority and supports development, manufacturing and delivery.
The system gives tactical units organic reconnaissance and precision-strike capabilities. It is also designed to engage targets in complex operational environments.

The HERO 120 is a mid-range loitering munition for tactical units. The operator retains control throughout the mission.
The system supports target observation, identification, tracking and engagement. Mistral and Uvision said it gives soldiers greater operational flexibility and responsiveness.
Mistral is a U.S.-based defense prime contractor and systems integrator. Its work includes unmanned systems, loitering munitions, robotics, force protection and survivability.
Uvision is the design authority for the HERO family of loitering munitions. The company works with Mistral to meet U.S. Army operational requirements.
