Palantir expands partnership with U.S. Special Operations Command

By Defence Industry Europe

Palantir Technologies Inc. has announced a significant expansion of its partnership with the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). The new one-year contract, valued at USD 36.8 million, appoints Palantir as the lead software integrator for USSOCOM’s Mission Command System (MCS) while broadening technology support for U.S. Special Operations Forces (SOF) globally.

The contract leverages Palantir’s advanced multi-vendor development ecosystem and the Ontology Software Development Kit (OSDK). This enables accelerated software deployment at the edge and facilitates pilot projects to integrate Palantir’s innovative artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities into USSOCOM operations.

“USSOCOM continues to be at the forefront of adopting emergent technology, and we are looking forward to this new stage of our long-time partnership,” said Akash Jain, President of Palantir USG. He emphasised that Palantir’s Mission Manager software is poised to transform the Defence sector by operationalising commercial capabilities for U.S. Government missions.

Palantir’s Mission Manager is being deployed for the first time to SOF Units under this agreement. The software is built on a secure, Kubernetes-based infrastructure, streamlining the integration of emergent commercial technologies into secure environments. This ensures operational readiness, informed decision-making, and risk assessment, even in disconnected or edge environments.
