Patria showcases advanced defence solutions at DVD 2024 in Bedfordshire

Patria, Finland's leading defence company, is participating in DVD 2024 (Defence Vehicle Dynamics), taking place at UTAC Millbrook, Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, on 18-19 September. The event brings together industry experts and key Ministry of Defence stakeholders to discuss innovative approaches, resilience, and collaboration aimed at enhancing military capabilities.

 

At DVD2024, Patria is showcasing two of its 6×6 armoured personnel carrier vehicles, demonstrating their capabilities in the driving demonstration area. Additionally, Patria’s NEMO 120mm turreted mortar system will be on display atop a Boxer vehicle at Rheinmetall’s stand.

Focus on extreme conditions and modular design

The Patria 6×6 vehicle is known for its modularity, high performance, and robustness, offering a cost-effective solution for protected tactical troop transport. It is designed to provide modern protection and high mobility, and its modular design allows for a wide range of configurations to suit various mission requirements, including roles such as Armoured Personnel Carrier, Company Command vehicle, Medical Evacuation vehicle, Heavy APC, and a platform for the 120mm Patria NEMO turreted mortar system.

The Patria 6×6 has been selected as the platform for the multinational Common Armoured Vehicle System (CAVS) programme, which currently includes Finland, Latvia, Sweden, and Germany. Deliveries of the Patria 6×6 are ongoing to Latvia, Finland, and Sweden, with the vehicles already in operational use. Patria has received orders for nearly 700 units, with approximately 200 vehicles delivered to customers so far. The CAVS programme remains open for other European countries to join.

Advanced firepower with Patria NEMO

Patria NEMO, a lightweight and remote-controlled 120mm turreted mortar system, offers a combination of mobility, protection, and precision. It is capable of both direct and indirect fire, even while on the move, and can be integrated into various tracked or wheeled platforms. NEMO’s Multiple Rounds Simultaneous Impact (MRSI) capability significantly enhances its firepower, and a container-based version of the system is also available. Equipped with advanced sensor systems, NEMO can independently acquire and engage targets or share targeting data with other firing units, providing impressive fire support and rapid response capabilities.

Patria NEMO is displayed at Rheinmetall’s stand, demonstrating its versatility and effectiveness as a comprehensive fire support solution.
