Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa (PGZ) presented an export configuration of its Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle for the first time during the IDEB 2026 exhibition in Bratislava. The vehicle is based on the Universal Modular Tracked Platform chassis and is equipped with the unmanned Turra 30 turret system developed by Slovak company EVPÚ.

According to PGZ, the presentation combines the UMPG tracked chassis with the Turra 30 V9 turret, a remotely operated weapon system already introduced into serial production and operational service with the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. The companies said the configuration responds to growing international demand for modular and modern combat platforms.

The companies stated that the project reflects expanding Polish-Slovak industrial cooperation in the defence sector. According to PGZ, the joint offering is intended to support the development of competitive European defence solutions through cooperation in technologies, manufacturing and operational expertise.

Arkadiusz Bąk, first vice-president of PGZ, said, “Participation in the IDEB exhibition and the presentation of the export variant of the Borsuk IFV in a new, internationalised configuration constitute an important step in the development of PGZ’s export portfolio.”

“Together with our Slovak partner, we are offering a proven, modern, and flexible solution that can effectively meet the needs of the armed forces of many countries,” Bąk added.

PGZ stated that the Borsuk infantry fighting vehicle has attracted interest from potential export customers. The company described Borsuk as a next-generation tracked combat vehicle designed and manufactured entirely in Poland, combining amphibious capability, mobility and crew protection.

According to the company, the modular vehicle can be adapted to specific operational requirements, including different armour configurations and weapons systems. Since 2025, the Borsuk IFV equipped with the ZSSW-30 turret system has been in service with Polish mechanised forces.

PGZ said the relatively low weight and amphibious capability of the platform make it suitable for operations in challenging terrain conditions, including wetlands and sandy environments. The company added that additional armour packages can be integrated depending on customer requirements.

The Turra 30 turret displayed in Bratislava is armed with a 30 mm automatic cannon, a coaxial 7.62 mm machine gun and Spike LR/LR2 anti-tank guided missiles. According to PGZ, the turret can be configured with cannon systems manufactured either by Northrop Grumman or Slovakia’s ZTS Special.

The companies stated that the turret system enables day and night combat operations in all weather conditions while allowing the crew to operate fully protected from within the vehicle. Advanced observation and fire-control systems are designed to support precision engagement of armoured vehicles and personnel targets.

PGZ said the demonstrator vehicle showcased at IDEB 2026 highlights the Polish defence industry’s ability to integrate advanced combat systems in accordance with NATO interoperability standards. According to the company, the platform can be offered with turret systems from Poland, Slovakia or other suppliers depending on customer requirements.
