RENK Group has received an order for 50 HSWL284C gearboxes. The transmissions will be used in the Panzerhaubitze 2000 (PzH2000).

RENK has announced that delivery of gearboxes to the Bundeswehr and international customers is set to begin in October 2024. The contract also includes options for additional gearboxes, according to a press release issued by the company.

“This order marks a continuation of our decades-long partnerships. With our ability to deliver on short notice, we are playing a vital role in rapidly enhancing and maintaining the defense and alliance capabilities of the Armed Forces,” said Michael Masur, CEO of Vehicle Mobility Solutions at RENK.

The company highlighted that the HSWL 284C gearbox has been specifically developed for the PzH2000, a platform known for its exceptional performance and reliability. The transmission offers comprehensive functionality, including driving, braking, and steering capabilities, as well as pivoting, which allows the tracked vehicle to turn on its own vertical axis. These features enable the PzH2000 to achieve maximum mobility, even in the most challenging terrain.

“Like all RENK transmissions, the HSWL 284C ensures the tactical mobility of land forces, significantly enhancing crew protection and contributing to high long-term operational readiness and combat effectiveness,” the company stated.
