Ismail Demir, the head of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB), stressed that this successful test demonstrates Turkey’s growing expertise in missile technology.
Tayfun is now Turkey’s longest-range missile to date, surpassing previous missile systems. In October 2022, during a previous test, the missile showcased its capabilities by accurately hitting a target from a distance of 560 kilometers (approximately 348 miles).
Meanwhile, the images of the Cenk ballistic missile, announced by President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan following the introduction of Tayfun, were displayed for the first time by the SSB head on May 12, 2023.
