The miFAP systems act as a critical communication hub, bridging proprietary military and civilian radio networks seamlessly. Their containerised design offers key advantages, including fast deployment, flexibility, and independence from existing infrastructure at deployment sites.
Under the agreement, RUAG will deliver 14 fully integrated, autonomous miFAP systems housed in containers. The package also includes a mobile demonstration vehicle showcasing miFAP capabilities and a comprehensive training programme for operational readiness.
By December 2023, RUAG had already handed over 55 containerised miFAP systems to the Bundeswehr, demonstrating their reliability and efficiency. This new order reaffirms RUAG’s ability to deliver high-quality, turnkey communication solutions to the third-party market, building on their successful TAN T230 communication systems.
The miFAP system is designed as a universal voice and IP router, connecting various devices and networks across manufacturers and generations. It enables the configuration and operation of up to six radio device groups, facilitating seamless communication across military and civilian organisations.
Additionally, the miFAP system integrates IP data interfaces and provides uplinks to local or wide-area networks. High-frequency-shielded containers with built-in supply systems ensure the systems remain mobile and resilient under diverse operational conditions.
The containerised systems come equipped with on-board generators and air conditioning, ensuring optimal temperature control during transport and immediate operational readiness upon arrival. Integrated telescopic masts with pre-wired antenna connections further enhance functionality and ease of deployment.
