Souce: PGZ Stocznia Wojenna press release

PGZ Stocznia Wojenna has signed a contract with Terma for the delivery of the C-Guard direct ship defence system, which will be used in the construction of Miecznik frigates for the Polish Navy.

“The contract signed today is another important stage in the implementation of the Miecznik programme. Frigates built at PGZ Stocznia Wojenna will receive effective protection against many types of threats, both underwater and missile threats. More than 150 ships sailing under the flags of navies from all over the world are equipped with similar, proven systems – said Andrzej Wojtkiewicz, Director of the Miecznik Programme at PGZ Stocznia Wojenna.

Terma C-Guard is a direct ship defence system that counters missile and torpedo strikes. The system is based on combat-proven phantom target launchers and a mechanical design with no moving parts and provides defence of the ship in a 360-degree sector. C-Guard has relatively low maintenance requirements, thus guaranteeing high operational availability and a low total cost of ownership.

Terma is proud to announce the signing of a strategic agreement with PGZ Stocznia Wojenna for a cost-efficient self-protection solution in the Miecznik program. Our C-Guard decoy launching system offers unmatched operational availability and capability against multiple threats, ensuring the best and lowest cost of ownership. We extend our gratitude to the Miecznik team at PGZ for their efficient collaboration, laying the foundation for a strong, long-term partnership” said Martin T. Jentsch, Sales Director, Naval Sales at Terma.
