The extended Testing Centre is designed to enhance collaboration among the project partners, serving as a nexus for innovation and co-creation. With advanced facilities for system testing and integration, the center will play a crucial role in the development and deployment of naval technologies for the F126 frigates.
“By inaugurating the extended Thales Testing Centre today, we reach a great milestone in the F126 project,” said Dirk Jan de Bruijn, Vice President of Above Water Systems at Thales. “Together, we have created a collaborative environment that will enable our colleagues, partners, and customers to work together on the innovative solutions for the F126 frigates.”
The facility features multiple testing positions for the ships’ sensors and other hardware, and will facilitate the integration of these systems into the TACTICOS Combat Management System. This collaborative approach not only enhances efficiency but also ensures that the solutions developed are perfectly tailored to meet the needs of the German Navy.
The project milestone was celebrated with an official inauguration ceremony attended by high-ranking naval officials including Flottillenadmiral Andreas Czerwinski, Konteradmiral Christoph Müller-Meinhard, and Kapitän zur See Matthias Michael Potthoff, alongside representatives from Damen Naval, Dura Vermeer, and Thales.
