In the near future, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive a large batch of Brimstone anti-tank guided missiles. Brimstone is a state-of-the-art anti-tank weapon system manufactured by European defence company MBDA.

The United Kingdom’s Defence Secretary, Grant Shapps, announced the supply of a new batch of 200 Brimstone anti-tank missiles to the Armed Forces of Ukraine during his statement to the House of Commons on February 22. According to British media, the Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive the newest version of this missile system – Brimstone 2.

Ukrainian military experts say a new batch of these missiles will significantly enhance the anti-tank capabilities of the Ukrainian army. The Brimstone missile is well-known to Ukrainian soldiers. The first batch of Brimstone missiles was handed over to Ukraine in 2022. Shortly after this, Britain sent an unspecified number of Brimstone 2 missiles.

However, the UK revealed that it has supplied Ukraine with a more than 1,300 Brimstone 1 and Brimstone 2 missiles to date.
