The meeting included an assessment of the recent visit by Swedish defence companies to Ukraine and ongoing work on joint production of key weapons systems. Both parties highlighted the recently signed memorandum between Ukraine’s Radionix and Sweden’s Saab as a significant step forward.
This cooperation draws on the strengths of both companies, aiming to boost Ukraine’s defensive capabilities through technological exchange and shared expertise. “Ukrainian-Swedish defence relations are progressing, affirming the strategic partnership between our nations. Sweden is one of the leading supporters of Ukraine, and we are glad to share our experience in advancing joint initiatives,” said Sergiy Boyev.
The production of Swedish CV-90 infantry fighting vehicles remains a key area of focus, with both sides agreeing on the importance of establishing local maintenance and repair operations in Ukraine. These vehicles have demonstrated strong battlefield performance and remain vital to Ukraine’s defence.
Sweden also announced plans to fund new defence technologies, outlining a range of potential areas for development. Ukraine, in turn, prioritised enhanced capabilities against guided aerial bombs (GABs) and enemy drones.
Deputy Minister Boyev concluded the meeting by thanking Sweden for its continued military support, including the most recent aid package, which is the largest since the beginning of Russia’s full-scale invasion. He added that Ukraine is currently evaluating its priorities for using the assistance effectively.
