The training is conducted in collaboration with the U.S. Army’s 3rd HIMARS Battalion, 321st Field Artillery Regiment, 41st Field Artillery Brigade, under the V Corps. Commander of the Lithuanian Land Force Rocket Artillery Battery, Major Justinas Čekanauskas, emphasised the importance of the joint effort, stating, “Training with Allies is more than instilling or embedding practical skills, it is also an opportunity to deepen the mutual cooperation and hone collective tasks.”
The programme combines classroom learning and hands-on practice, focusing on essential roles such as HIMARS crew members, fire control specialists, ammunition officers, and junior commanders. Soldiers are being trained to operate and maintain HIMARS (High Mobility Artillery Rocket System) independently, mastering tasks such as vehicle operation, missile reloading, and fire preparation.
