The package includes four additional IRIS-T air defence systems and 300 guided missiles, alongside 120 man-portable air-defence systems (MANPADS). Germany will also supply 300 reconnaissance drones, 25 more Marder infantry fighting vehicles, 15 Leopard 1A5 tanks, and 14 artillery systems.
Furthermore, 100 ground surveillance radars and 100,000 artillery shells are part of the aid. “Yesterday I was able to announce that over the past few days we have delivered 30 additional guided Patriot missiles from our own stocks for the Patriot systems already supplied to Ukraine,” Pistorius added.
The Minister stressed the importance of coalition efforts in supporting Ukraine not only during the war but in preparing for the post-war period. He highlighted Germany’s leadership in forming a ninth international coalition focused on electronic warfare.
“Germany has formed the ninth coalition, which now includes ten partners, dealing with the increasingly important area of electronic warfare,” Pistorius noted. This coalition aims to bolster communications security, intelligence, and disruption of enemy systems, as well as drone defence.
Pistorius reaffirmed Germany’s ongoing commitment to Ukraine’s defence. “Our reliable support continues,” he said, underscoring the significance of the coordinated military assistance.
