LTAMDS offers full-sector sensing capabilities aimed at European scenarios involving large-scale, coordinated attacks with ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones. The agreement builds on industrial partnerships developed during the Polish Government’s WISLA Phase 1 programme and forms part of the offset provisions for WISLA Phase 2.
“This agreement is a big step toward establishing LTAMDS’ global supply chain,” said Tom Laliberty, president of Land & Air Defense Systems at Raytheon. “Poland is the first international country to complement the combat-proven Patriot with LTAMDS, providing extended-range and full, 360-degree coverage to detect and defend against complex, highly coordinated, multi-threat attack scenarios.”
In August 2024, Raytheon secured a U.S. Army contract worth more than $2 billion to supply radars for the United States and Poland. Through this Foreign Military Sale, Poland became the first international customer to integrate LTAMDS into its air and missile defence network.
