New contract awards rose 72% to $4.9 billion, lifting the company’s backlog by 45% to a record $23.2 billion. First-half revenue increased 38.5% from the same period in 2025 to $2 billion.
The Ankara-based group secured more than $2 billion in export contracts during 2025 and has expanded its international footprint to 97 countries. ASELSAN also describes itself as Europe’s fifth-largest defence company by market capitalisation.
The company is pursuing its international expansion through its aselsaneXt strategy, which is intended to shift the business from a domestic supplier towards a global defence electronics and systems provider. Its portfolio includes air defence, electronic warfare, radar, communications, avionics, guided weapons, naval systems and unmanned platforms.
Investment in additional production capacity increased 195% to $323 million in the first half of 2026. Research and development spending rose 41% to $804 million over the same period.
Much of the planned industrial expansion is centred on the Oğulbey Technology Base, the largest investment in ASELSAN’s history. The first section is now operating and has started manufacturing selected air-defence systems.
ASELSAN expects the completed site to more than double its overall production capacity and expand serial manufacturing for Steel Dome. The company plans for Oğulbey to become Europe’s largest integrated air-defence production facility when fully operational.
Steel Dome is Türkiye’s sovereign multi-layered air-defence architecture, designed to connect systems covering different ranges and categories of aerial threat. The programme draws on ASELSAN’s capabilities in sensors, communications, electronic warfare and integrated defence systems.
“Our rise in the Defense News Top 100 is a clear reflection of the scale, momentum and global competitiveness ASELSAN has built,” President and Chief Executive Officer Ahmet Akyol said. “In just three years, we have grown our backlog from USD 7–8 billion to USD 23 billion, and with the opportunities and contract negotiations currently underway, we are targeting USD 30 billion by year-end.”
ASELSAN employs more than 14,000 people and is expanding its presence across NATO markets, Europe, the Gulf and other regions. The company said its priorities include increasing exports, accelerating deliveries and expanding its technological and industrial capacity.
