ASELSAN demonstrates integrated electronic warfare and ISR on Bayraktar TB2 drones for air-defence suppression in live trials

ASELSAN has tested three airborne electronic warfare and surveillance systems operating together on Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aircraft. The live demonstration in Türkiye’s Konya province showed a sequence spanning radar-emitter detection, electronic attack and high-resolution imaging.

More than 15 international defence delegations attended the trials. ASELSAN used a single operational scenario to demonstrate how separate sensors and countermeasure systems can exchange targeting data during a mission.

The configuration included the ANTIDOT 2ES 100 Electronic Support Measures pod, ANTIDOT 2EA 200 Electronic Countermeasure pod and FULMAR 200 active electronically scanned array radar pod. Together, the systems covered electronic support, electronic attack and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance tasks.

In the first stage, the electronic-support pod detected and geolocated a search-radar emitter during flight. It then passed the target coordinates to the electronic-countermeasure pod for a precision electronic attack.

Operators briefly suspended the attack so the target radar could reacquire and lock on to the unmanned aircraft. The countermeasure system then applied digital radio-frequency memory techniques to disrupt the radar’s tracking performance.

During the second stage, the electronic-support pod again identified and located the emitter while maintaining real-time situational awareness. The FULMAR 200 produced synthetic aperture radar imagery of the same target area.

ASELSAN said the radar imagery provided detailed ground mapping, target identification and geolocation with metre-level accuracy. The capability is designed for day-and-night intelligence missions in all weather conditions.

The demonstration completed a connected operational cycle from detection and localisation to electronic attack and radar imaging. ASELSAN presented the configuration as a way to support suppression and destruction of enemy air-defence missions using a single unmanned-aircraft platform.

The company said the broader combat concept would normally conclude with an ASELFLIR 500 designating an air-defence target for a laser-guided munition. That target-designation and strike phase was described as part of the wider concept but was not included in the demonstrated sequence.
