Akinci took off from the Çorlu Flight Training and Test Center in Tekirdağ carrying the guidance kit, known as MGK, alongside an Alpagut munition developed by Roketsan and STM. The aircraft returned to the centre after completing the firing test.
Aselsan developed MGK entirely with Turkish components, according to Baykar. It is the latest addition to the aircraft’s range of integrated Turkish-developed munitions.
Akinci’s previously integrated weapons include the MAM series, the TOLUN munition family and guidance kits such as TEBER, GÖKÇE and GÖZDE. The list also includes the İHA-300, İHA-230 and İHA-122 supersonic missiles and the ÇAKIR cruise missile.
The EREN high-speed multipurpose loitering munition and SUNGUR air defence missile have also been integrated. Baykar said the weapons’ differing ranges, guidance systems and warheads allow Akinci to conduct missions against a wide variety of targets.
Baykar said it has signed Akinci export agreements with 16 countries and Bayraktar TB2 agreements with 36 countries. Together, agreements for the two aircraft cover 39 countries.
The company reported record exports of $2.2 billion in 2025. It said exports have accounted for 90% of its revenue in recent years.
