The contract, signed by Lieutenant General Per Pugholm Olsen, Head of DALO, marks the first procurement under a 10-year framework agreement. AeroVironment, which acquired Arcturus UAV Inc., will supply Denmark with fixed-wing JUMP 20 drones, featuring vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) capabilities.
Lieutenant General Olsen emphasised the strategic importance of the agreement, stating that it allows Denmark to acquire additional drones as needed and ensures access to the latest technological advancements. This flexibility is crucial for maintaining modern and adaptable military capabilities.
The JUMP 20 drone offers significant advantages, with a flight endurance of over 10 hours and a range exceeding 100 kilometres. Its robust design makes it suitable for challenging environmental conditions, enabling effective operations in diverse climates.
These drones will play a key role in enhancing Denmark’s ISR capabilities, supporting military operations with real-time reconnaissance and surveillance data. Additionally, their ease of use and deployability make them a valuable asset for rapid response missions.
The first deliveries of the JUMP 20 drones are scheduled to begin in 2025.
