The advanced defence systems will be installed on Embraer C-390 Millennium transport aircraft and Airbus H225M helicopters operated by the NATO country. As part of the agreement, another European nation will also receive the Advanced EW suite for its C-390 Millennium aircraft under a separate arrangement included in the contract.
The Self-Protection Suites provide autonomous detection, analysis, and countermeasures against a variety of threats, boosting the safety and operational capabilities of the aircraft. The package includes cutting-edge technology such as Digital Radar Warning Receivers, Infrared Missile Warning Systems (MWS), Laser Warning Systems (LWS), Countermeasure Dispenser Systems (CMDS), and the MUSIC™ DIRCM System. For the C-390 contract, the SPEAR Advanced ECM (Electronic Countermeasure) Pod is also included, offering flexibility by being easily transferable between aircraft.
Elbit Systems has established itself as a leader in this field, with its EW and DIRCM systems already installed on over 30 aircraft types worldwide, including those operated by NATO members. “With our EW Self-Protection Suites installed on over 30 aircraft types and deployed across multiple countries, including several NATO members, Elbit Systems is recognized as a global leader in Electronic Warfare and DIRCM technology,” said Oren Sabag, General Manager of Elbit Systems ISTAR & EW.
Sabag emphasised the importance of innovation, noting, “Our advanced modular design allows continuous updates, ensuring adaptation to evolving threats and providing a rapid response to enhance the safety of both aircrews and platforms.” This flexibility positions Elbit Systems as a vital partner in modern defence, capable of adapting swiftly to changing security challenges.
