The aircraft’s journey from Brazil began on April 10th, departing from Embraer’s facilities to Recife, then flying to Las Palmas the following day, and finally arriving in Kecskemét on April 12th. The next steps for this aircraft in Hungary will involve installing NATO-standard communication systems and conducting operational tests to meet the requirements of its future users.
Upon completion of the tests, the aircraft will return to Brazil for final preparations before its official handover. The C-390 Millennium offers advanced capabilities including an intensive care medical unit for casualty evacuation and underwing refueling pods, enabling air-to-air refueling missions for the Hungarian Saab JAS-39C/D Gripen fighter jets, among others.
Embraer has successfully delivered seven C-390 Millennium aircraft globally, achieving over 11,500 flight hours and maintaining an average operational readiness above 80%. Further orders are anticipated from various countries including the Netherlands, Austria, Czech Republic, and Korea, with potential new markets like India, Saudi Arabia, and Sweden being eyed for future sales.
