German defence industry company Rheinmetall is supplying a total of 14 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks to the Czech Republic as part of an international swap scheme to allow the flow of weapons to Ukraine.

The first of 14 pledged Leopard 2A4 tanks was handed over to the Czech Republic in December 2022. The vehicle already passed military tests conducted by the Armed Forces of the Czech Republic.

According to the Czech Ministry of Defence, all the remaining 11 Leopard 2A4 tanks will be delivered by half of the 2024 year.

As Defence Industry Europe reported, the Czech Republic intends to buy Leopard 2A7 main battle tanks in the future.
