“For many years, we have relied on NI products in the area of production testers for the development and design of test systems,” said Marcel Erbert, Head of Production Tester at the Ulm site. “It is all the more pleasing that we have now been able to conclude a System Integrator Agreement with NI.” This contract regulates and intensifies the future cooperation of both parties in the area of Testing Solutions and grants HENSOLDT far-reaching competences in the integration and marketing of NI COTS products.
The starting point for the discussions and negotiations with NI was the currently ongoing product development “DAIM Testing Solution” in the Production Tester area with the support of Customer Services. “DAIM (Data Aggregation and Information Mining) is an Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) solution that makes it possible to network test systems in the development, production and maintenance environment, to centrally aggregate the data of the test systems and test items and to make it available across security levels and departments for analysis and evaluation,” explained Fabian Wehnekamp, the developer responsible for the project. “Within HENSOLDT, decisive savings and improvements have already been achieved with this,” added project manager Christoph Strähle. The DAIM Testing Solution is based on the NI SystemLink software. Due to the proven developer competences and integration capabilities with NI SystemLink, HENSOLDT also received the award as ‘NI SystemLink Specialty Partner’ from NI, which further underlines HENSOLDT’s market presence and strengthens the confidence of potential customers in the DAIM Testing Solution.
A highlight for the entire project team was the invitation to participate in the NI in-house trade show ‘NI Connect’ in Munich at the beginning of November. At the HENSOLDT booth, potential customers and interested participants were able to experience the application scenarios and diverse potentials in the tester environment with the help of a DAIM demonstrator. However, not only the demonstrator, but also the technical presentations given by HENSOLDT colleagues and the opening keynote with Head of Customer Services Temur Karbassioun and Fabian Wehnekamp attracted a lot of attention from the audience. “We were able to have many conversations with potential initial customers, which makes the participation a great success for our team and fires us up with additional motivation,” says Marcel Erbert.
