The collaboration will merge Septentrio’s state-of-the-art GNSS platform with Hexagon’s broad positioning technology portfolio, which includes sensor fusion, anti-jamming systems, correction services, and perception technologies. This integration will deliver cutting-edge, high-accuracy positioning solutions with low Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) requirements, facilitating the adoption of autonomous systems in both established and emerging markets.
Hexagon emphasised that the partnership will address the increasing demands of high-growth segments such as robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), and mission-critical applications. The acquisition reflects Septentrio’s commitment to delivering innovative GNSS technology to its extensive base of original equipment manufacturer (OEM) customers.
Norbert Hanke, interim President and CEO of Hexagon AB, commented on the strategic importance of the deal. “The combination of Hexagon and Septentrio will transform the positioning industry, setting new standards for accuracy, resilience, and scalability necessary to support and accelerate the journey towards full autonomy,” he said.
Septentrio, headquartered in Leuven, Belgium, employs approximately 150 people and is projected to generate over €50 million in revenue in 2024. The company will operate under Hexagon’s Autonomous Solutions division, continuing its focus on innovation and customer-centric solutions.
