HII secures USD 296 million contract to support U.S. Air Forces in Europe and Africa

By Defence Industry Europe

HII has been awarded a task order worth approximately $296 million to support air and space operations for U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces in Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA). The five-year contract will see HII provide technical and analytical services to assist with command and control, integrated air and missile defence, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR).

The contract, issued by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center’s 764 Enterprise Sourcing Squadron, builds on previous work HII has undertaken under the Persistent Multi-Role Operations (PMRO) contract. This expanded scope will allow HII to enhance operational planning, integration, and execution for USAFE-AFAFRICA.

Todd Gentry, president of Mission Technologies’ All Domain Operations group at HII, emphasised the company’s commitment to strengthening U.S. defence security across Europe and Africa. He highlighted that HII’s expertise in multi-national operations would support the U.S. Department of Defense’s (DOD) Combined Joint All-Domain Command and Control strategy.

USAFE-AFAFRICA, headquartered at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, plays a critical role in supporting the missions of the U.S. Air Force, European Command, and Africa Command. By leveraging forward-based airpower and infrastructure, the organisation enables both regional and global military operations.

HII specialises in the design, development, and management of advanced sensors and systems to enhance ISR capabilities. The company’s technology solutions aid the U.S. DOD, combatant commands, and intelligence agencies in improving real-time decision-making.
