In a brief statement published by KNDS France on social media, it was noted that during the demonstration, the CAESAR artillery system achieved a range exceeding 42km.
Furthermore, KNDS France stated in a press release that the company is keen to establish industrial and technological cooperation with Poland in the field of artillery ammunition production.
This potential collaboration includes the manufacturing of propellant, fuzes, and primers.
The Polish defence industry is currently planning to expand its artillery ammunition production capacity.
However, Polish companies have limited expertise in the production of 155mm artillery shells and are seeking foreign technology partners.
Defence Industry Europe sent an inquiry to KNDS headquarters for additional information, but the company has yet to respond.
Nevertheless, Polish defense sources confirmed to Defence Industry Europe that KNDS France showcased its LU 220 artillery projectile during a live-firing demonstration in Poland.
The sources also confirmed that the Bonus precision artillery projectile was used during the demonstration as well.
The Polish Armed Forces are looking to acquire a significant quantity of 155mm artillery shells. In addtition, in July of this year, Poland’s defence procurement agency initiated a market survey for precision artillery shells.
A key requirement outlined by Poland is that the ammunition must be compatible with both the AHS Krab and K9 artillery systems, both of which are currently in service with the Polish land forces.
